Home Sweet Home
Just got back from a wonderful week back home in the Lone Star State. Enjoyed big food, beautiful company, and the warm comforts of home. Luckily enough for me, I am able to call Houston, Texas my home. Many people are not able to appreciate how beautiful Houston is; but in my eyes, there is so much about this steamy, lush, burly town to LOVE.

DIY: Willie Crop Top
Step 1: Collect your supplies. For now you need 1 over-sized vintage t-shirt, scissors, and a sewing machine
Step 2: Fold shirt with the sleeves in the center and cut like so:
Step 3: Iron temporary hem
Step 4: Sew hem along bottom of shirt
Step 5: First, measure to make sure you have enough fringe. Then, sew it on the back for an extra little something.
And VOILA your very own cowboy crop top

Hippi Hips
Not sure if I could pull off this bad boy, but I'd sure love to try. I have been super into this fringe look in shirt form... but why the hell not rock it via skirt!? You can grab one of these fabulous fringe skirts for yourself at Need Supply...

Detective Work
Okay, follow my lead...
First, having been an admirer of this ^ picture used for Dior's Cherie Perfume ad campaign, you can imagine why I took a liking to this:
Then, having been a big fan of this ^ contribution to Nylon Magazine's 10th Birthday issue a few years back, you can imagine my excitement when coming across these v sketches contributed by two saucy sisters on their blog jackyblue...Can you spot the similarities???... Voila! Detective work at its finest.
Jackyblue is a blog created by 2 fashionistas: Jacky and Blue. It documents their fun and light day to day exchanges as they attempt to keep in touch via: quarky thoughts, fanciful sketches, daily dilemmas, fun photos, and all from completely different spots on the globe. Jacky reports from the Big Apple and sketches for DKNY(hence ^), while blue contributes from England.
Needless to say, I absolutely adore these funky abstract sketches. Wouldn't they look cute framed on the wall. Hmmm sounds like a DIY project... stay tuned

Bon Voyage
Bon Voyage by COCO
Whipped up this bad boy at Polyvore today. Browsing through all of the new fall swag is getting me very excited for this upcoming season. All the toasty hues are making me feel all warm and tingly inside: dark chocolate, amber, burnt orange, reds... the options are endless... I particularly like this dark brown paired with a hint of blue
One of my favorite items from this inspiration board is definitely the Elba skirt. I love the cut-out detail. It adds a fun cutsie somethin' to this otherwise basic bottom. Tre chic if you ask me...
